Giorgio Morandi

Giorgio Morandi was a Metaphysical artist/printmaker - born in Bologna, Italy - 1918 and died in1964.  The movement led to the Surrealists.  He painted very simple subjects, mainly vases, bottles, flowers and landscapes, using a very limited palette.  There is an exhibition of his work currently at The Estorick gallery in Islington, North London.
