The Great Barrier Reef has been recreated as a giant piece of crochet work and is on exhibition at the Southbank Centre, London SE1 from 11th June. The exhibition's called "The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef". Here's the beginning of the Guardian article by Maddy Costa:"In a whitewashed room in the basement of the Royal Festival Hall in London, a scientist called Margaret Wertheim is gamely attempting to explain complex geometry - to a group of women wielding crochet hooks" ..... well I'm definitely going along to see it!
