Well, I couldn't let it rest without having another go. I'm really pleased with this effort, and have even edged the socks with a crochet'd row of beads on the edge of the cuff. (Very subtle.) You can see this more clearly if you click on the photo to see the larger version. This beaded edge was also trial and error, as I sewed the beads on for my first try, using beading thread, and couldn't manage to get the socks on! - too tight! - but the crochet'd row was just fine. I've even printed up the pattern - so anyone with Size 4 (small feet) - let me know if you want a copy. ..............think I'll have another go too.
