Burghley House
Burghley House is in Stamford, Lincolnshire (borders) and is a beautiful Elizabethan House, which has been added to and changed through the years. It was originally built by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I.
The House and Gardens (and cafe) are well worth a visit - the House has a huge collection of wonderful paintings, sculptures and treasures.
