Chelsea Flower Show 2014

unfortunately the colours didn't come out so well in my photo, but they were beautiful.

This won the 1st Prize in the Young Flower Arrangers competition
Chelsea Flower Show (RHS) 2014 has been wonderful.
I didn't manage to go, but have been watching the wonderful BBC coverage on tv.
(My husband thinks all I do is watch gardening and cookery! ... cant think why! :)  )

My garden's not looking too bad though ..........

Recycling

This is a lovely idea from today's YOU mag.  Recycle plastic bottles as herb containers if you have limited space and can hang them.  They are painted with outdoor gloss paint.

Sundew/Drosera

I was watching BBC2 last night - Jimmy Doherty - Darwin's Garden and saw this plant. JD was repeating a Darwinian experiment on carniverous plants - which I cant say I'm normally interested in - but was so taken with the beauty of the plant that I found some photos on the Web ............... I was so excited that I didn't note where the photos came from - so if anyone sees them who may own them - hope they dont mind my using them - but they are just beautiful!
This plant could lend itself to so many design ideas - but you couldn't improve on it - - -
nothing 's more beautiful than nature itself.

Well Christmas festivities are (almost) over and 2009 is on its way. I love the Spring and just cant wait to see all my bulbs popping up - that is if the squirrels (!***!) haven't got to them first ..................... here's a few cheery pix.

Woottens of Wenhaston

The Victorians loved Auriculas and would display them in a 'theatre'.
